Went in for my first class this week. Everyone I met from instructors to members were extremely welcoming. Very impressed with the facility and professionalism that I saw. Was unsure at 52 years old if this was a good idea, but after meeting other members was excited to get started.

I was really surprised and impressed entering seeing a dojo with striking training combined with Jujutsu. I wanted to broaden my daughter’s martial art training by having her work in jujutsu. The welcoming was professional and amazing. They took her in with open arms and she left there smiling and excited.

Great classes, both Kickboxing and BJJ. Instructors are knowledgeable and involved during the classes. Friendly staff and participants, no egos, everyone is there to learn and get a good workout.

Family friendly atmosphere and extremely welcoming. I did not feel like a new guy in my intro class. Respect was given to all and no egos. Signed up on the spot.

I’ve been to quite a few combat gyms and this is among the best. Between the vast knowledge to be shared by professors and coaches to the way they make you feel like family. Gym is also great size and is maintained very well. I appreciate the hospitality and highly recommend.

I love the classes I’ve been taking and I look forward to them every week. I’m happy I took the step to sign up.

We attend the one in Fairhaven and we absolutely love it! The instructors are patient, educational and my son has a great time! The instructors finish each class with a quick 5 minute game and the kids walk out with smiles! 10/10!

My husband and I just signed our three-year-old daughter up for jujitsu here and, so far, we have had a great experience! Sonya, who works at the desk, was so kind and helpful when it came to the registration process and giving us a tour of the facility. Alyssa, who did my daughter’s trial on the first day and worked with her during her first class, was so patient and great at giving directions in a way that is easy for a three-year-old to understand. We look forward to seeing all that they help our daughter learn!

Classroom setting. Fast paced enough to keep your attention and not too fast where you forget what you are doing.

My 3 year old had his first class and didn't want to leave! My fiance and I have put him in many different sports and Jiu Jitsu has been the only one he has had a smile and engaged in the entire time! We are only one class in but I would definitely recommend! I also want to say that the staff their is absolutely amazing!

I've been with Danny Saverys Brazilian jiu-jitsu for about three years and I couldn't have asked for a better academy to train in. I can honestly say Danny Savery is one of the best coaches in all of New England. The love he has towards teaching Brazilian jiu-jitsu is amazing to witness. If you have any questions, concerns, need advice, or just someone to talk too, Danny is the perfect person. I've learned so much from him over the years. The team at Danny Saverys BJJ are the best. All the coach's are amazing, they each have their own style of teaching and you learn so much from them. From Brazilian jiu-jitsu too kickboxing or MMA this academy has everything you need and all the right people to teach it to you. Even the little ones can come and have a blast here. Here at Danny Saverys you don't just make friends you gain a family. Everyone there looks out for one another, cares about each other, and are inspired to help one another. For me I've always been and still am very shy and insecure around people, especially in anything physical. Being a big guy I was scared that people were going to look at me differently, not want to work with me, or take advantage of me during my first weeks of classes. I couldnt have been any more wrong, I was welcomed in by everyone didn't matter the belt level, they all welcomed me in like family. This broke me out of the shell I put myself in and I became more confident in myself mentally and physically. I can still remember my first day walking into the old gym not knowing anything about Jiu-jitsu. Going behind the wall and having Danny Jr demonstrate three basic techniques. Right after that I fell in love with Brazilian jiu-jitsu and knew this was the perfect academy for me. Fast forward to today I see these new students come in on there first day and experience the same feelings I had back on my first day. If you want to find a second family and also learn some amazing skills and techniques, Danny Saverys BJJ is the most perfect fit for you.

I signed up my daughter for classes here in November, and we love it! It's nice to see a business owner so present and invested. Sarah was amazing and answered all of my many questions when we were signing up. Everyone here is friendly and helpful, and they genuinely care about the students in class. The staff have such impressive patience and discipline to keep all these kids focused during each lesson, not to mention great enthusiasm and technique demonstration. My daughter has learned so much already, and we can already see positive changes off the mat, too! ;) It's a great community, and everything has been top-notch so far. I cannot recommend Danny Savery and his team enough! Thank you!

I wanted to get on here and update my initial review. I’ve been training here for almost two years now. I’ve learned so much since first reviewing, and it’s truly been like a second home for me. I’ve made great friends, had fantastic conversations, and look forward to it every time I go. It’s absolutely worth the cost, and has given me so much more than I thought it could. I absolutely love it here. The teammates are fantastic, and the coaching is extraordinary. Even more than before, I highly recommend.

Initial Review:
I’ve only been going here for about a month now, but I absolutely love it. Everyone is so friendly, and the instructors are very knowledgeable. Even though some people are training for competitions, there’s no “I’m better than you” attitude, and everyone is helpful to the newbies. I started to simply lose weight, but I’ve already learned a lot and thoroughly enjoy my time here. They do an introductory class so you can see if it’s right for you without outright joining. They offer a range of classes that fit everyone, and you can mix it up if you like. Highly recommend

Great gym atmosphere, family and team oriented. Everyone is friendly and willing to help. I’ve been a member for over ten years and haven’t thought about leaving. They offer classes 7 days a week morning noon and nights to accommodate all types of schedules. Danny has been a great coach mentor and friend whose been a big influence on me. I highly recommend stopping in and taking an intro class to see if it’s something you would enjoy

I've been a member of DSBJJ since 2010. The training and attention to detail from Danny and the other instructors is top notch. The training environment is clean, friendly, and respectful of all students. Come and train with us, get in shape, learn a new skill set, make some new friends. See you on the mats!

20 Years of DSBJJ! Join Us December 5th for an Unforgettable Anniversary Celebration!

October 14, 2026

20 Years of DSBJJ! Join Us December 5th for an Unforgettable Anniversary Celebration!

Two Decades of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Dedication, Tradition, and Family!

20 YEARS. THREE ACADEMIES. ONE FAMILY.

What started as a passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has grown into something much bigger than we could have ever imagined.

For 20 years, Danny Savery Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academies (DSBJJ) has been building champions, developing black belts, creating friendships, and bringing people together through martial arts.

Now it’s time to celebrate!

On Saturday, December 5, 2026, at 10:00 AM, we are inviting our DSBJJ family, past and present, to join us at our Somerset, Massachusetts headquarters for a very special 20-Year Anniversary Celebration!

This is more than just another academy event. It’s a celebration of our history, our students, our instructors, and the incredible journey we’ve shared.

And the best part? This entire event is FREE!

🥋 A Special Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Seminar Featuring Two DSBJJ Pioneers!

One of the most exciting parts of our 20-year celebration will be a special Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu seminar taught by two individuals who helped build the foundation of DSBJJ.

We are proud to welcome:

🥋 Ethan Richardson – 3rd Degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt

🥋 Keith Ferreira – 1st Degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt

Both Ethan and Keith are important parts of our academy’s history. Their dedication, experience, and contributions helped shape the team and culture we have today.

This special anniversary seminar is an opportunity to learn from two of our very own pioneers, share the mats, and celebrate the techniques, knowledge, and traditions that have been passed down through the years.

Whether you are a current student or someone who trained with us years ago, this is a fantastic opportunity to get back on the mats and be part of DSBJJ history!

🏆 Celebrating the People Who Made DSBJJ Special – Anniversary Awards Ceremony

An academy doesn’t reach 20 years without incredible people behind it.

Throughout our history, we’ve had dedicated instructors, hardworking students, loyal teammates, and individuals who have gone above and beyond to help build our academy.

During our anniversary celebration, we will hold a special awards ceremony honoring individuals who have made a lasting impact on DSBJJ.

This is our opportunity to recognize the dedication, loyalty, leadership, and contributions that have helped make our academy what it is today.

Because DSBJJ has never been just about earning belts or winning competitions.

It’s about the people who make up our team.

🥋 Adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Belt Promotions

What better way to celebrate 20 years of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu than by recognizing the continued growth and dedication of our students?

We will also hold a special adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu belt promotion ceremony during our anniversary celebration.

Belt promotions represent much more than a change in rank. They represent countless hours of training, perseverance, personal growth, and commitment to the art.

Celebrating these accomplishments alongside students and instructors from across our academy’s history makes this promotion ceremony even more meaningful.

🔴⚫ Exclusive Limited-Edition DSBJJ 20-Year Anniversary Merchandise!

We’re also celebrating this incredible milestone with something special!

Limited-edition DSBJJ 20-Year Anniversary merchandise will be available to commemorate two decades of our academy!

It’s a great opportunity to grab something special, represent your team, and celebrate being part of 20 years of DSBJJ history.

These anniversary items are a special way to show your DSBJJ pride!

      Once DSBJJ, Always DSBjj!

One of the things that makes Danny Savery Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academies special is the history we’ve built together.

Over the past 20 years, we’ve watched beginners become experienced martial artists, students become instructors, and dedicated practitioners earn their black belts.

We’ve had families train together, watched children grow into adults, and even seen multiple generations become part of our academy.

The friendships, memories, and experiences created through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Kickboxing, and MMA have lasted well beyond the training mats.

Today, DSBJJ continues that tradition through our three academies in:

📍 Somerset, Massachusetts

📍 Fairhaven, Massachusetts

📍 Bristol, Rhode Island

Together, we continue serving the SouthCoast Massachusetts and East Bay Rhode Island communities through adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Gi and No-Gi, Kickboxing, MMA, and our youth martial arts programs.

But our success has never been measured simply by the number of locations we have or the championships we’ve won.

Our greatest accomplishment is the community and family we’ve built along the way.

Calling All Current and Former DSBJJ Students!

Have you trained with us at any point over the last 20 years?

Maybe you earned your first stripe or belt with us. Maybe you competed alongside your teammates, trained in our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program, or spent years in our Kickboxing or MMA classes.

Maybe life simply took you in another direction.

Whatever the reason, we would love to see you again!

This celebration is especially meaningful for everyone who has been part of our adult martial arts programs over the years.

If you haven’t stepped inside one of our academies in a long time, December 5th is the perfect opportunity to reconnect with old friends, see familiar faces, and celebrate the team you helped build.

You will always be part of the DSBJJ family!
